All sales for home made cake and hire of vintage china in Cardiff from Teisen Deg (the Company) are subject to the following terms and conditions:
Price
The price for the order shall be as stated on your order form. You agree to pay the full price to Teisen Deg in accordance with the order form after the details are checked and agreed by you. We reserve the right to increase our product prices without prior notice in line with any significant rises in production costs, but will make every attempt to avoid doing so.
Afternoon Tea/Cake Receptions
Teisen Deg is pleased to be able to provide afternoon tea packages and cake receptions which include the hire of vintage china hire and accessories. Following the event, the china will need to be washed, dried and repackaged (in its original packaging) by the customer. Due to the delicate nature of the china, it cannot be washed in a dishwasher. Please see below for details of set-up, if required. Set up charges for afternoon tea/cake receptions are calculated at 5% of the total cost of your order.
China Hire
We endeavour to inspect all of our china to ensure that it is safe and suitable for your event. Upon receipt of your order please check the items as listed on your order form and notify us of any problems at this point. If we do not hear from you on the day of delivery/collection we will conclude that all items received are suitable and in good order. Collection/return times will be agreed on the day you receive your order. We would appreciate customers’ honesty in the reporting of any damages on return. Missing or broken items will be charged at replacement cost. The goods remain the property of Teisen Deg during the hire period.
Deposits
Orders for celebration cakes and afternoon teas require a deposit of 50% of the total cost. Please note that all deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. All deposits become due when the order has been placed and details checked and agreed by you. All orders are deemed to have been accepted only when the deposit has been paid.
Payment Terms
Payment can be made in cash, BACS transfer, or by cheque payable to Mrs J Brown. Cheques will require a 7 day clearing period.
Final Payments
The date for final payment(s) will be as stated on your order form.
Non Payments
In the event that any payment is subsequently declined, the order will not be completed or released until alternative arrangements have been agreed and payment is made in full. Subsequent completion of the order will be subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.
The Company accepts no responsibility for any loss howsoever caused or for non-delivery under these circumstances. The customer will be responsible for the payment of any additional charges which have been incurred as a result of payment failure.
Alterations to Orders
Your order is very important to us. Please take the time to check your copy of the order form carefully and let us know within three days if changes are needed. It is your responsibility to advise the Company of any alterations to the original order. The Company reserves the right to increase a quoted fee in the event that the Customer requests a variation to the work agreed. Whilst every effort will be made to assist Customers, please note that late changes cannot always be guaranteed.
Cake Component Parts
From time to time certain materials for our celebration cakes may become obsolete or no longer be available from our suppliers, for example, pre-manufactured items or ribbon colours. This is totally out of our control; however we will endeavour to re-design a cake to reflect this as closely as possible to the original design using replacement products. In all cases we will try to contact you to advise you of any such changes, however the Company reserves the right to replace these with components of equal or better quality without consultation.
Collection
Your order may be collected at a pre-arranged time. A signature is required upon collection confirming that you have received your order in good condition and as specified. We cannot accept responsibility for orders collected and delivered by a third party.
Delivery
All delivery times are subject to availability. If you have a specific delivery date, please specify this when placing your order. We will do our best to accommodate your requirements. Mileage is charged at 50p per mile for a round trip from the Company’s base at CF14 3NU. Delivery to locations outside of Cardiff are at our discretion.
It is the Customer’s responsibility to ensure that you have given us correct delivery information, and that someone is available to receive your order. A signature will be required for the receipt of the order upon delivery.
If the recipient is not in, the order will be returned to the Company who will contact you to arrange an alternative delivery time for which an additional charge will be payable to the Customer. The Company accepts no responsibility for any loss or consequential loss incurred by the Customer as a result, for example, a wedding without a wedding cake.
Setting Up
Should you require your order to be delivered, where possible the Company will deliver and set up as agreed and will want to ensure that it is displayed at its best. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have provided the Company with the set-up details and arrangements made with the venue for the location and display of your order. The Company cannot be held responsible for the location of the order at the venue. Please ensure, therefore, that the display location is level, stable and strong enough to hold your cake(s). Please also remember that cakes covered in chocolate and buttercream can melt in warm conditions such as inside a marquee on a hot summer’s day, or when set up in direct sunlight.
Once your order has been delivered, set up, and signed for, the Company is unable to accept responsibility for any interference with or damage to it thereafter.
If an order is to be delivered and set up by the Company, a signature will be required from your venue management confirming the it has been received and set up in good condition. A photograph will be taken prior to departure by the Company to verify that it has been set up and left in good condition.

For all other orders, full payment is required if cancellation is within 10 days of the delivery date; prior to this a refund of any monies paid, less deposit, will be made.
